Head Coach - Sean Brosnan
Born and raised on Long Island NY, Sean went on to graduate from Adams State in Alamosa, Colorado after competing in the NAIA and NCAA. He was an all american in XC and track (Middle distance). After college he went on to run for the American Distance Project, Mizuno , NYAC and Nike's Bowerman Athletic Club (Now Bowerman Track Club) where he traveled the US and Europe pursuing his dream as a runner. A small stint coaching at the NCAA DII level he realized coaching and teaching HS athletes was his passion. Sean started coaching the Newbury Park boys cross country in the fall of 2016 and started coaching the girls in the fall of 2017.
"I feel in order to learn how to fly like a bird you have to live with the birds. I have had the opportunity to work and learn from some of the the best coaches in the world as an athlete and student. I'm always learning and making sure my athletes have the best opportunities in order to succeed".
Assistant Coach - Tanya Brosnan
Born and raised in southern California, Tanya ran and competed for Cal State San Bernardino and Queens University of Charlotte NC. There she was and All-American in cross country, 2x 10k national champion and 2x national runner up in the 5k. She also held the NCAA DII American 10k record on the track. She started coaching with Newbury Park in the fall of 2017.
"If there is one thing I have learned it would be there is no luck in running. Running is a state of fitness and there are no shortcuts in order to succeed".
Assistant Coach - Steve Hawkins
Steve competed in cross country and track at Emporia State University, KS, following which he coached at ESU, University College Dublin in Ireland, and finally at Allen County Community College in Kansas. At Allen, Hawkins coached 9 distance athletes to NJCAA All-American, including a National Champion at 5000m. He has Level II Endurance Coach certification from USAT&F.
